  8. Geography of Nowhere: The Rise and Decline of America's Man-Made Landscape by James Howard Kunstler is a book Thom mentioned he and Stanley Donwood read not too long ago. That book seems to be what originally inspired them to do a lot of this suburbia-themed artwork.
