looks like a pathology specimen to me :) with a tightly packed pseudocolumnar epithelial layer as the faces. its obvious that these people have some space problem. because of my inner state, this pict. also expresses some confusion to me. dealing with lots of ideas and reactions in mind, like being alienated, and judging self with people's created(expected) reactions in your mind. Kind of social phobia maybe. Or the ideas in your brain branching from a root and trying to find a space of their own to progress and dominate. Or the overpopulated human kind, blooming :)
your words remind me of the huge boabab trees from the "little prince". dig the roots of baobabs out of your planet, before they grow huge and take over. the "bad" inside you.
They look like flowers to me. The limbs are very plant-like. They also remind me of a Holiday card Thom designed for a charity in the 1990s which I have. The faces were very alien like but they were happy unlike these.
New one is great!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea..
ReplyDeleteI like the ones which seem to be from a sketchbook a lot. the people are asking for help but you can see their spirits keeping them from screaming...
ReplyDeleteit's cute
ReplyDeleteum, "glass pinch-filter our faces like a hall of mirrors"? yep that would be the effect at work here...
ReplyDeleteMmm... cute isn't the accurate word for me! :-) It's a very interesting picture. Long time since they used faces... unless I have a memory hole!
ReplyDeleteThis one's quite wierd. I like it, though. I wonder if it's going to be incorporated into some of the other artwork.

ReplyDeleteroot and branch - if something is changed or removed root and branch, it is changed or removed completely because it is bad.
